Grade 3
Key ConceptMultiplication means putting together equal-sized groups — 3 groups of 4 is 3 × 4. Division answers the reverse question: it's really asking, “what number, multiplied by this one, gives that total?” For example, 12 ÷ 3 asks 3 × ? = 12.
