Quick concept refresher

Read this once before you start — every question links back to one of these four ideas.

Arithmetic sequence — add the same number (d) each time. aₙ = a₁ + (n − 1)d
Geometric sequence — multiply by the same number (r) each time. aₙ = a₁ · r^(n−1)
Series — the running total when you add sequence terms up. Sₙ = n(a₁+aₙ)/2  |  Sₙ = a₁(rⁿ−1)/(r−1)
Sigma (Σ) — a short way to write "add these up." Σ(k=1 to n) f(k) = f(1)+f(2)+...+f(n)
